After doing Spook Rally for 39 years, we need to try something different.
Welcome to the first ever: NOT SPOOK RALLY Poker Run
Itinerary
7am - 8:30am - Registration will be open. Make sure to bring your signed waiver(s), proof of vehicle insurance, and EXTRA CASH to purchase additional poker hands and raffle tickets. If you PRE-ORDERED t-shirts, they will be available for pickup at the registration tables. NOTE: T-shirts are only available by pre-order. No shirts will be for sale at the event.
8:30am - 9am - Driver's meeting, organize into different groups for the runs, get ready to head out.
9am - 3pm - Rough Rider guided trail runs.
3pm - 5pm - Return to the registration tables to submit poker hands and buy additional raffle tickets.
5pm - 6pm - Prizes, prizes, prizes. We will announce the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place poker hands for CASH prizes. We will also draw tickets for the raffle prizes.
6pm and later – We will be having a bonfire, so please feel free to hang out.
What to expect
This will be our first attempt at a poker run. Participants will be divided into groups for separate trail runs guided by different club members. Playing cards will be distributed at various times throughout the entire process to build your best poker hand. Once back at start/finish, the poker hands will be evaluated, and CASH prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The poker hand prize money will be comprised of $5 from each registration as well as $5 from each additional poker hand that is purchased. The Poker Hand prize distribution will be as follows:
1st place = 50% of the pot
2nd place = 30% of the pot
3rd place = 20% of the pot.
Additional poker hands are $10 each and can be purchased at the registration tables with CASH only.
In keeping with our Spook Rally tradition, we will also be holding a raffle. Raffle tickets are $1 each and can be purchased at the registration tables with CASH only.
What to bring
Aside from whatever you would typically bring to go four-wheeling (food, drinks, sunscreen) please make sure to bring the following:
• Valid driver’s license
• Proof of insurance
• Printed and signed waivers of liability (more on that below)
• A four-wheel drive vehicle that meets our safety requirements
• Cash to buy additional poker hands and raffle tickets
• Chairs, tables, etc. for the raffle drawing and if you plan to hang out.
Registration
Registration must be completed online and payment made in full. The Bureau of Land Management restricts the number of participants for our event, so please register early if you want to attend. Online registration will be closed on October 19th, or if we reach the maximum number of participants. We expect the event to sell out.
Equipment/Vehicle Safety
For our event, we only allow vehicles that can be registered as a "Passenger" type per the Arizona Department of Transportation Codes. Those classifications can be found here: ADOT Title and Registration Codes
We do not permit any other vehicle type including but not limited to motorcycles, ATV's, Quads, UTV's, Side by Sides etc. to participate in our events.
All participant vehicles must meet the following requirements:
- Functioning Four Wheel Drive
- Recovery points
- A roll bar, roll cage, or permanent hard top
- An individual seatbelt or harness for EACH passenger in the vehicle
- A working CB Radio or FRS/GMRS type FM radio (e.g. Rugged Radio, Baofeng)
We recommend you also have a first aid kit, fire extinguisher, spill kit, and flashlights.
Your vehicle will be subject to a Safety Inspection. We will verify the presence and functionality of the above requirements. If your vehicle does not adequately meet the above requirements, we reserve the right to disqualify your vehicle from participating in the event. Vehicle disqualification will forfeit your registration fee. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN.
Waivers
All individuals participating in Not Spook Rally Poker Run must sign a waiver of liability. Please read and understand the waivers thoroughly. The Release and Waiver means you are participating in Not Spook Rally at your own risk and accept total responsibility for your actions.
• Adults (18+) must sign “Rally Release and Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk and
Indemnity Agreement”
Waiver for Adults
• 16 to 17 years of age must sign “Minor’s assumption of Risk and Release and Waiver of
Liability”. This waiver must be completed by the 16-17 year old and be witnessed.
Waiver for Minors ages 16-17
• Zero to 15 years of age must have a “Parental Consent, Release and Waiver of Liability,
Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity Agreement” signed by a parent or legal guardian. This waiver
must be completed and witnessed if you are bringing any minor guests, including your own
children.

Registration Fee
Registration is PER VEHICLE. The cost to register for Not Spook Rally Poker Run is $30 if you are a member of a club that is affiliated with ASA4WDC. If you are not a member of a club affiliated with the ASA4WDC, an additional $10.00 is required for temporary membership to ASA4WDC for insurance purposes. Each registration fee includes 1 poker hand and $5 will be put into the prize pot for best poker hands. Additional poker hands can be purchased at the event for $10 each cash only.
Memorabilia
There is really only one way to truly remember an event like this. You need a T-SHIRT! Shirts will be available in our online storefront to pre-order. You MUST pre-order shirts as we will not have any available for purchase the day of the event. If you do not pre-order your shirt(s), you will not be able to get one…EVER. Due to the time needed to print the shirts, we must cutoff shirt sales on October 5th. So if you want a t-shirt, make sure to get your order in immediately.
Alcohol Consumption
As a condition of obtaining the event permit, the Bureau of Land Management has made it very clear that, in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes, there is to be no drinking and driving. The BLM may have personnel ensuring compliance during the event.
